What is the cost of the service?
Our design service is completely free of charge for individuals, ensuring accessibility for those in need. However, be designed Ltd retains full ownership of the designs we create, including the rights to reproduce, adapt, and sell the product to others who may benefit from the same solution. This approach allows us to extend the impact of our work, reaching more people with similar needs while supporting the sustainability of our services. Will the Equipment Safe to Use?
At every stage of our process, we prioritize safety and transparency. Comprehensive risk assessments are conducted throughout to identify and eliminate potential hazards, ensuring our designs are both functional and secure. We use only high-quality, appropriate materials and maintain detailed documentation for all designs. To ensure proper usage, we provide clear instructions on the equipment, tailored to your needs. Where applicable, we also guide those involved in your care, ensuring everyone understands how to use the equipment safely and effectively. How is be designed funded?
Be Designed is not a charity, even though we provide our design service free of charge to individuals in need. Unfortunately, this means we are not eligible for donations, grants, or other forms of charitable funding. Instead, we sustain our work through the sale of products that we develop to meet specific needs. Once a product is designed to solve a particular problem, we retain the rights to manufacture and sell it to others who may benefit from the same solution. This model allows us to continue offering personalized design services at no cost to individuals while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission to create impactful, life-changing solutions for people with unique challenges.
Can You Help If I’m Based Outside the UK?
We are proud to offer our advice and design services to people worldwide. While we prefer to work with individuals based in the UK and Europe, we are happy to assist people globally wherever possible. Custom projects may present challenges due to the need for in-person assessments, prototype testing, and product installation, but we are committed to finding solutions and overcoming barriers. In many cases, we can collaborate with you and skilled individuals or organizations in your area to bring your custom design to life. Our goal is to provide meaningful support, empowering people everywhere to achieve independence and improved quality of life.
How long does a design, prototype and final product take?
The time required to complete a design and prototype depends largely on the complexity of the project and the materials involved. Simple designs can often be finalized and prototyped within a few days, while more intricate or innovative solutions may take several weeks to months. Factors such as the availability of specialized materials, the need for testing and revisions, and the level of customization required all play a role in determining the timeline. On average, a project may take between 2 to 16 weeks to complete, although timelines can vary. We strive to work efficiently while ensuring the highest quality, balancing speed with the careful attention needed to deliver safe, effective, and reliable solutions.
